Lake in the Hills, IL- Friday, June 24th, 2022- Policarta, an AFC Renewables Company, celebrated the grand opening of its North American facility on Thursday. This Lake in the Hills, IL production space features one printer and three bagging lines, with plans for immediate expansion.

Policarta is an Italian-based company with over one hundred years’ experience in paper packaging design. Increased demand for waste reduction in packaging, particularly plastics, drove the need for a North American location. Policarta’s paper products are commonly used in QSR, C-store, fast casual, and other food-related applications.
“AFC Renewables is excited to bring the artisan craftsmanship of Lazio® and Oven2Go® bags from Italy to the United States,” stated Chris Lewis, Policarta President. “This USA-based production facility streamlines logistics for our existing customer base. It also enables us to expand product offerings for our key C-store, QSR, fast casual, and hospitality customers.”
